Dr Scott Russell, MD is a board-certified urologist in Dayton, Ohio whose wife is a speech pathologist working in nursing facilities. This connection with nursing facilities led him to recognize that the urologic health needs of these residents were not being met with the standard medical care practices provided in these facilities. This recognition led Dr. Russell to the belief that there had to be a more effective way of providing expert urologic care to the residents of nursing facilities, who are at a very high risk for bothersome and potentially dangerous urinary health problems. In conjunction with his brother (also a board-certified urologist), they developed the Uroguidance Program which is designed specifically for the unique needs of the nursing facility population, helping to improve their quality of life and reduce the risk of urologic-related medical complications.
